A concept by German harpist Miriam Overlach, «Visionaire Timbres 1926» recreates a concert given in 1926 by harpist Rosa Spier at the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam with a program of avant-garde highlights of the time. The concert is now played by the fine players of Ensemble Lumaka (that includes musicians of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra), as a travel-in-time experience to those 90 year old visionary sounds.
The design makes use of the typeface I had already developed for Ensemble Lumaka when creating the communication design for «Monumenten», and a beautiful photograph from the time found at the archives of Rosa Spier in Holland.
